L'Avventura Presents the 2025 Theme Months – A Journey Through the Flavors of Italy

L’Avventura takes its passion for Italian cuisine to new heights with the 2025 theme months. Guests are invited on a culinary journey that blends classic Italian ingredients with creative interpretations and new discoveries. We spoke with the team behind L’Avventura to gain insight into the inspiration behind this year’s concept.

What inspired this year’s theme months?
“We wanted to build on what’s been appreciated in the past while daring to try something new. Last year’s Piemonte month was a hit, largely thanks to the truffle focus. This year, we’re letting truffle take center stage again as it’s an ingredient that truly deserves to shine,” explains Laura, head chef.
“But we also wanted to venture beyond the familiar and delve deeper into regions like Lazio, where we have less experience. It’s exciting to learn and share more with our guests about Italy’s lesser-explored areas,” adds Karl, restaurateur.

One standout theme is ‘Little Italy.’ How did the idea come about?
“‘Little Italy’ feels playful and nostalgic,” say Karl and Laura. “We’re inspired by Italy’s influence on food and drink culture worldwide. Think dishes like pasta and breaded cutlets on the same plate – hearty, indulgent, and a little different. We’ll also have fun with playlists, decor, and perhaps even staff outfits. It’s a real trip ‘way back.'”

Sicily is another featured theme this year. What can guests expect?
“Sicily is close to my heart,” says Laura. “My family is from Palermo, and we spend every summer there. The theme is a tribute to the flavors and traditions I grew up with, like cannoli, blood oranges, and Marsala wine. It’s about balancing authentic flavors with creating an experience that feels both genuine and special.”

How do you balance innovation and tradition in these theme months?
“Our foundation is always the classic L’Avventura experience,” says Karl. “The theme months are our way of challenging ourselves while offering something new to our guests. But we always keep our classics on the menu for those who prefer the familiar. This is more of an added layer, an opportunity to delve deeper into Italian culinary culture.”

Are there any specific ingredients you’re particularly excited to work with?
“Absolutely,” says Laura. “For Campania, buffalo mozzarella will naturally take center stage. During the Sicily theme, we’ll highlight blood oranges, which are in season then, to create fresh, intense flavors. We also have strong relationships with our suppliers, allowing us to source truly unique ingredients to work with.”

What do you hope guests take away from this year’s theme months?
“We hope our guests feel like they’re discovering something new while enjoying the very best of Italy,” concludes Karl. “The theme months are a chance to showcase how diverse and exciting Italy is, and we can’t wait to share that journey with our guests.”
