Lombardy is known for its rich and hearty cuisine, where butter, cream, and rice often replace olive oil and pasta. Signature dishes include risotto alla milanese, infused with saffron for a golden hue and deep flavor, as well as ossobuco, a slow-braised veal shank bursting with taste.
